Kelvin Polman Posted by Katie Hamlin - August 29, 2013

Marine veteran Kelvin Polman joined the Marine Corps in 2008. He was selected to be an 0402 logistics officer but his service was cut short in 2012 due to medical reasons.

Polman now works for the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement in the Chief Financial Office as a recruiter. “I recruit for recent college graduates,” said Polman. “I found a job just fine but I struggled leaving the Marine Corps because it was such a family and I definitely miss that.”

Polman’s advice to newly injured Marines is to take the skills you learned in the Marine Corps and apply them to the civilian workforce. Such qualities as “leadership, commitment and drive” are exactly what hiring managers are looking for.
