(QUANTICO, Va. - November 3) - Despite the impact of Hurricane Sandy, 15 wounded, injured or ill active duty Marines participated in the 2012 USMC Wounded Warrior Regiment's cycling camp. Some of these Marines will be competing in cycling events at the 2013 Marine Corps Trials at Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 1-6. On the last day of the camp, the WWR hosted a "fun ride" at the Prince William Forest Park near Marine Corps Base Quantico to kick off Warrior Care Month. Warrior Care Month is a Department of Defense-wide effort to celebrate the accomplishments of our wounded, ill and injured Marines and increase awareness throughout the military of wounded warrior support programs and commands. The camp was organized and operated by the USMC Wounded Warrior Regiment with support from Wounded Warrior Battalion East.
