MARINE CORPS BASE QUANTICO, Va., (March 18, 2013)-- The Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment hosted the third annual Marine Corps Trials aboard Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton, Calif., March 1- 6. The Trials are a preamble for the Regiment’s Warrior Athlete Reconditioning program to select 50 athletes to represent the Corps at the 2013 Warrior Games.
The Warrior Games is a Paralympic-style competition for wounded, ill and injured service members. The All-Marine Warrior Games Team will go head to head against the other branches of the Armed Forces May 11-17, at the Olympic Training Center and the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs, Colo. The All-Marine team will defend their first place title by competing in swimming, shooting, cycling, wheelchair basketball, archery, volleyball, and track and field.

The United States Marine Corps Wounded Warrior Regiment provides and facilitates non-medical care to combat and non-combat wounded, ill, and injured Marines, and sailors attached to or in direct support of Marine units and their family members in order to assist them as they return to duty or transition to civilian life.
