Naval Hospital 29 Palms houses the WWBN-West support detachment for the base. The detachment offers services to the base including but by no means limited to:

• Government transportation for Marines with medical appointments to other treatment facilities (Balboa, Pendleton).
• Internships and transition assistance for wounded, ill, and injured Marines exiting the Corps.
• Emergency billeting for ill and injured Marines that are attending Mojave Viper.
• A Work-Therapy program for recovering Marines unable to work in MOS due to injury.
