Commanding Officer

LtCol Greg Martin is currently the Commanding Officer, Wounded co picWarrior Battalion-West at Camp Pendleton. He is from San Diego, California and entered the Marine Corps after graduating from San Diego State University in 1989 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice Administration.

LtCol Martin’s previous command tours include: Marine Security Company, Presidential Retreat Camp David; Headquarters Battery, 10th Marines; and Inspector-Instructor, 3d Air Naval Gunfire Liaison Company (ANGLICO).

His staff and operational tours have included artillery forward observer, fire direction officer, artillery liaison officer, and battery executive officer in 5th Battalion 11th Marines, Weapons Safety Investigator, Naval Safety Center, 6th Marines Fire Support Coordinator, Operations Officer 1st Battalion, 10th Marines, Exchange Officer to the Royal Australian Army, and Fire Support Branch Head, Expeditionary Warfare Training Group, Pacific.

He is a distinguished graduate of Amphibious Warfare School and a graduate of the Marine Corps Command and Staff College where he received a Masters Degree from Marine Corps University.

His personal decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal with Gold Star, the Navy Marine Corps Commendation Medal with Gold Star, the Presidential Service Badge, and the Australian Commander Training Command – Army Commendation.
