Transition Center

Our mission is to insure that Service Members have a successful transition back to their community. The center is the focal point of all efforts to assist transitioning Service Members.

The ultimate goal is to develop an Individualized Transition Plan for each Service Member and to assist the Service Member to complete the plan. The Transition Center will remain a resource even after they leave the service. We will remain available to assist to insure no Service Member falls through the cracks.

VA Medical Administration

The Service Members are given the location of their local VA health unit with points of contact and phone numbers. The goal is to insure continuity of medical services to transitioning Service Members.

VA Benefits Administration

Applications for compensation are completed before a Service Member departs the service to insure timely evaluation of their eligibility for compensation and other benefits.

Education

Service Members are made aware of their education benefits through the VA Vocational Rehabilitation program and the G.I. Bill. Evaluation and counseling are provided to help Service Members with career plans. We focus on careers with longevity and upward mobility.

Employment

Service Members are provided employment counseling and guidance. As employment opportunities become available, job leads are provided. We assist Service Members with creating applications and resumes, as needed. The Transition Center assists Service Members with obtaining careers.

Disability Resources

Service Members are made aware of disability resources that might aide them as they return to civilian life. Many federal programs will be available to assist them with specific disability needs after they leave the Service Member Corps.

Community Resources

Programs such as Marine For Life, Disabled American Veterans, American Legion, State Veterans Services, and the Purple Heart Society, amongst many other resources are valuable sources of information and support for returning Veterans.
