Referral Procedures

Referral Procedures

Wounded Warrior Battalion West offers the following procedures to assist in provide commands with tools to assist wounded, ill, and/or injured personnel in transitioning to the Wounded Warrior Regiment.

1. Review the Referral Process Brief

2. Complete the Referral Package


3. Send completed packages to [email protected]

Once both commands have discussed the referral and the referral has been approved, the parent command will receive an e-mail or phone call from the WWBn Adjutant. The parent command will generate TAD orders for approximately 90 days. The individual will check out of their unit, NBC and CIF. The individual will then report to the WWBn with medical and dental records to the Battalion S-1 located at Bldg H-49 / 27847.

During this period of TAD the Wounded Warrior Battalion will track and monitor the individual's medical care. If it is determined by medical authority that the individual's medical care is going to exceed 90 days; the Wounded Warrior Battalion will contact the individual's parent command and discuss a transfer by service record. Once both commands agree upon the transfer, the Wounded Warrior Battalion will submit the request for transfer by service record to HQMC for action in accordance with MCO 6320.2E.
